The Illinois Pest Control Association presents the October 2023 virtual workshop.
STORED FABRIC INSECTS, Ethan Estabrook, BCE, Insects Limited
Stored fabric insects cause billions of dollars of damage in museums, residential, and historic homes every year. These insects can exploit and do irreversible damage to clothes, rugs, taxidermy, wood works, natural fibers, books, and paintings. When managing stored fabric insects, it is important to - START WITH THE INSECT FIRST! Identifying the insect and understanding their biology is the first step to an effective integrated pest management program. This presentation identifies some of the most common stored fabric insects, their biology, and how we can use pheromones to monitor them
