The Varied Carpet Beetle Kit features the Insect Limited’s signature pheromone Bullet Lures™ that attract Varied Carpet Beetles with a controlled release of pheromone over 3 months. The Bullet Lures are paired with the Flat Trap™ which is a field-tested trapping system for carpet beetles.
These traps can easily be placed on floors, under furniture or on shelves in closets or throughout other living spaces or storage rooms. Beetles that are attracted to the lure are readily stuck in the glue for monitoring purposes upon entering the trap.

This Varied Carpet Beetle Kit pairs the science of insect biology to the technology of a trapping system to assist you with the task of monitoring for these pests in your environment. In an Integrated Pest Management program, monitoring can ultimately help you reduce pest numbers when paired with a trapping system. The lures do this by:
1.) Telling you if insects are present
2.) Indicating where they are coming from and
3.) Finally telling you whether the control measures (E.g. removal of infested product, increased sanitation, freezing of infested products, etc), that you have taken are working or not

When to replace the traps.
The traps will need to be folded into place by hand, according to the instructions on the back of the kit box. The glue pad on each trap is covered with an easily removed plastic cover that should be removed after the traps have been folded into place.
Each pheromone lure is individually packaged to keep them fresh until you are ready to place them into a trap. When you are ready to use this product, the lures should be removed from their packaging and placed on their sides into the center of the glue pads on each trap. Pheromone Bullet Lures are non-pesticidal and only act as an insect attractant. If the glue from the trap accidentally gets onto your hands, it is not toxic and can be easily washed off using soap and warm water.
Although the pheromone in the lures is non-toxic, avoid direct contact with your skin if possible or simply wash your hands with warm water and soap if contact is made. The traps are then ready to be placed out in areas where beetles are being seen to begin monitoring for male carpet beetles that are attracted to the female sex pheromone. These traps will give you the information that you need to reduce your carpet beetle issue.

Each Varied Carpet Beetle Kit box has dimensions of 10 inches X 9 inches X 1 inches and weighs 1 lb for shipping purposes. Online customers can choose their shipping options at checkout. Orders placed before 3pm EST typically get processed that day. If placed after 3pm EST, your order will be processed the next business day. Orders are shipped Monday-Friday.

We currently cannot accept a PO Box as a shipping address. All US orders are shipped via FedEx/UPS. Be sure to include a valid street address as they will not deliver to a PO Box.
All Canadian orders are shipped via USPS. While we don't expect delays, sometimes this can happen when the package goes through customs. If you would like to have your package shipped via UPS, please give us a call at 317-896-9300. Please note, that a brokerage fee will apply, on top of the shipping cost, when the package arrives in Canada.
