Flat Trap (No Attractant) (IL-550)

Product Description 

The Flat Trap can easily be placed on floors or shelves in closets or throughout other living spaces.  

Note: Flat traps should be paired with a pheromone lure. Insects that are attracted to the lure are readily stuck in the glue upon entering the trap. The traps without a lure will not attract insects into it. 

Features and Benefits  

The Flat Trap design allows both crawling and flying insects to easily enter and be captured. The trap has a tacky glue interior that will allow for the capture and monitoring of a large number of insects. 

What to Expect 

When you open the box containing the traps, you will find the un-assembled traps stacked on top of each other. Each trap will need to be folded along it creases prior to removing the release paper from the glue surface. Once the trap had been folded into shape and the release paper has been removed, your lures should be removed from their packaging and placed in the center of the glue pad on the bottom of the trap. The opposing sides on the top of the trap can then be secured to each other to create a stable trap that is ready to begin capturing insects 

The traps are then ready to be placed out in areas where the target insects are being seen.  

This will begin the process of monitoring for male food or fabric insect pests that are attracted to the female sex pheromones in the lure. These traps will give you the information that you need to reduce or remove your pest issue. If the glue from the trap accidentally gets onto your hands, it is not toxic and can be easily washed off using soap and warm water. 

How Was the Product Tested? 

We first start with intense lab testing. Our entomology lab has 1x1 meter arenas set up where we create a test environment where insects have been introduced. We look at the capture rate compared to other popular trap designs.  In designing this trap, we looked at the ease of insect entry, the profile size that allows the trap to be placed under furniture or equipment and the ability of the glue to grab and hold onto insects once they have entered. 

Once we found out that this trap outperformed other traps on the market, we tested the devices in the field. We have created relationships with some of the best pest control operators in the industry. We trust these PCOs to test our products thoroughly and give us honest feedback.  

We received not only positive feedback from the professionals, but feedback that our product worked better than the other products. After that, we were ready to take our design to manufacturing and make it available to everyone.

Each Flat Trap box has dimensions of 12 x 8 x 4 in. and weighs 2 lbs for shipping purposes. Online customers can choose their shipping options at checkout. Orders placed before 3pm EST typically get processed that day. If placed after 3pm EST, your order will be processed the next business day. Orders are shipped Monday-Friday. 

We currently cannot accept a PO Box as a shipping address. All US orders are shipped via FedEx/UPS. Be sure to include a valid street address as they will not deliver to a PO Box. 

All Canadian orders are shipped via USPS. While we don't expect delays, sometimes this can happen when the package goes through customs. If you would like to have your package shipped via UPS, please give us a call at 317-896-9300. Please note, that a brokerage fee will apply, on top of the shipping cost, when the package arrives in Canada.
